Starting Feb 1, 2027, new channels need 8,000 watch hours to get monetized instead of 4,000 (plus 1,000 subs). If you apply before then, you only need 4,000. Views from the Shorts feed don't add to that number. (YouTube Help)
Send us your Shorts or stream clips. We cut them into one longer widescreen video with chapters, a thumbnail, title ideas and a description, ready to upload. Every view on it counts toward your hours.
See if you'll hit 4,000 in timeWhy Dec 31? YouTube takes about a month to review applications, so you want to apply with room to spare (Alan Spicer, Upstream). Hours count over the last 12 months. This is a rough estimate, so go by what YouTube Studio says.
Once you pay, you’ll get an email telling you how to send us your clips.
We can't promise you'll get monetized. That's up to YouTube. If we don't deliver in 3 days, you get your money back.
